WRGA Staff Reports –
As New Year’s celebrations approach, the Rome Police Department is reminding residents to follow Georgia’s fireworks regulations.
According to state law fireworks are permitted from 10 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. on most days – However, on New Year’s Eve, the time is extended until 1 a.m. on January 1st.
The department encourages everyone to be mindful of their neighbors and to adhere to these guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday.
Additionally, officials ask residents to use 9-1-1 responsibly. Emergency dispatchers should only be contacted for true emergencies, not for noise complaints or non-critical issues.
