This weekend we will find out who makes the best collard greens in Rome.
The South Rome Community Association is hosting its 2nd annual Collard Greens Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the South Rome Community Garden, located at the corner of Pennington Avenue and West Main Street.
In addition to the collard green cook-off, which will pay out three cash prizes, the festival will also feature live musical performances throughout the day as well as arts and crafts, food trucks, and activities for kids.
The family-friendly, community-driven festival celebrates culture, movement, music, and healthy living.
