Man accused of snatching woman’s cell phone

A man from Fortson, Georgia was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on charges of robbery and battery.

According to jail records:

34-year-old Gurpreet Kaur Singh snatched a phone out of a woman’s hand.

He also struck the victim in the head, causing visible redness to her ears.

The incident occurred at a location on Queen Street in Rome.

Man charged with theft by receiving, theft by deception

A 23-year-old Ellenwood, Georgia man is accused of selling a stolen skid steer. 

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jerrick Javon Wrice knew or should have known the equipment had been stolen when he traveled to Floyd County to sell it for $8,000.

He is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, theft by deception, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Woman charged with interfering with ankle monitor

A 39-year-old woman is in the Floyd County Jail on a felony charge of interference with an electronic monitoring device.

According to the arrest warrant:

Victoria Marie Rivera failed to charge an ankle monitor and then failed to meet with probation officers to have a new monitor put on.

She was required to wear the device as part of a pre-trial bond.

Rivera is also charged with failure to appear.
