Two arrested in a drug bust in Southeast Rome

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a residence on East Glover Street on Wednesday and arrested two men on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

21-year-old Tavarian Dequan Jackson and 20-year-old Zachery Lamar Jackson Jr. are both charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of drug-related objects after meth, digital scales, and a Glock were found in the home.

Zachery Jackson attempted to flee from officers and was additionally charged with obstruction.

Lindale man arrested during eviction

A Lindale man was arrested on drug charges during the execution of an eviction order on Booze Mountain Road Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Glass smoking devices with methamphetamine residue and marijuana were found in the residence.

During a consent search, 56-year-old Charles Dwayne Owens was also found with a small amount of meth.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.

Man charged with fleeing or attempting to elude

A 55-year-old Shannon man is facing charges multiple charges including fleeing or attempting to elude following his arrest Wednesday evening on Kingston Highway at Turner Chapel Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Larry Dewayne Justice ran a red light and then failed to stop for police, driving recklessly at more than 20 miles per hour above the speed limit.

The vehicle had a tag that did not belong to it.

Justice is also charged with failure to obey a traffic control device, reckless driving, concealing the identity of a vehicle, and driving with a revoked license.

Man accused of stealing Jeep Cherokee

A Silver Creek man is accused of stealing a woman’s 2016 Jeep Cherokee on Monday of this week.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Cody William Blaylock stole the vehicle after taking the woman’s car keys out of her purse as she was sleeping.

He also took the victim’s bank card and made three transactions totaling $72.

Blaylock is charged with felony and misdemeanor theft by taking.

Mississippi man arrested for meth possession

A man from Dennis, Mississippi was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

44-year-old Jason Robert Kimery was found with a pipe containing suspected methamphetamine.

He is charged with possession of meth.
