Man accused of neglecting kitten

A Cave Spring man was arrested at his McGee Bend Road home Sunday on a felony aggravated cruelty to animals charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

54-year-old Tommy Dewayne Cook failed to provide adequate food, water, sanitary conditions, and care for a kitten.

The alleged neglect resulted in the kitten’s rear legs being rendered useless.

Man charged with aggravated assault, theft by taking a motor vehicle

A 38-year-old Coosa man is accused of assaulting a woman at an apartment on Alabama Highway.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Robert Clyde Burton Jr. hit, headbutted, and strangled the victim.

He then took the woman’s car valued at $4,000 and her prescription medication, which he threw over a fence.

Burton is charged with aggravated assault, battery, theft by taking a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor theft by taking.

Warrant: Man posted sexual images without victim’s consent

A Rome man was recently arrested at his Leafmore Road apartment on a felony warrant charging him with prohibition of nude or sexually explicit electronic transmissions.

According to the warrant:

32-year-old Kendrick Cornez Fain gained access to a woman’s social media accounts without her consent and then posted images and videos of the two engaged in sexual activities.

Fain is also being held without bond on a probation violation.

Woman accused of stealing EBT card

A Silver Creek woman arrested back in August for possession of methamphetamine is now facing additional charges of identity fraud, financial transaction card fraud, and theft by taking.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Casey Cheyenne Cromer used another woman’s EBT card to make more than $500 in online and in-person purchases.

Casey’s actions left the victim and her children without the money needed for food and other necessities.

Woman charged with vehicle theft

A West Rome woman has been arrested on a felony count of theft by taking a motor vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Destiny Renee Ross took a Ford Ranger from a location on Paris Lane.

She also attempted to flee on foot from police.

Ross is additionally charged with misdemeanor obstruction, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and possession of drug-related objects.

Teen accused of kicking officer

A local teen faces felony and misdemeanor obstruction charges following his arrest over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

18-year-old Joseph Tyler Holcombe kicked an officer in the leg as they were trying to take him into custody for a mental health evaluation.

Holcombe is also charged with simple battery against a law enforcement officer.

Man facing drug charges

A Garden Lakes man was arrested on drug charges on Riverside Parkway over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

37-year-old Christopher Keith Wilson was found with two pills suspected to be ecstasy and one tramadol pill.

He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of dangerous drugs.

Traffic stop leads to meth arrest

A traffic stop for a hands-free law violation ended with the arrest of a Woodstock man on Shorter Avenue at Burnett Ferry Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Carlos Amado Garcia Ruiz was holding a cell phone and was also driving without a license in an uninsured vehicle.

He was wearing a seatbelt and had a vial containing suspected methamphetamine.

Ruiz is charged with possession of meth, distracted driving, driving without a license, a seat belt violation, and driving without insurance.
