Man charged with aggravated assault

A Rome man is facing charges after allegedly forcing his way into a woman’s apartment and assaulting her.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

47-year-old Christopher Aenchbacher put his hands around the victim’s neck and strangled her.

He also hit the victim above the left eye, causing a cut and swelling.

Aenchbacher is charged with aggravated assault.

Alabama man accused of stealing vehicle

A Leesburg, Alabama man was recently booked into the Floyd County Jail on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.

According to the warrant:

32-year-old Alex Lamar Poole took a 2022 Kia KS valued at $34,000 from a location on John Davenport Drive in Rome back on April 15.

He then drove the vehicle across the state line to Cherokee County, Alabama.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop on South Broad at Butler Street ended with the arrest of a 57-year-old Armuchee man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The vehicle driven by Joshua Jodell Leach was searched following a K9 indication.

Two baggies of crack cocaine, marijuana, and tramadol pills were seized.

An open Bud Light was also located in the center console.

Leach is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, open container and a window tint violation.

Lindale man facing meth possession, theft by receiving charges

A 62-year-old Lindale man was arrested over the weekend at Marion Dairy Road at Old Cedartown Road on charges of possession of methamphetamine and theft by receiving stolen property.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Randy Dywane Ashley was found with suspected meth and the license plate on his vehicle had been stolen from another vehicle.

He was additionally charged with acquiring a license plate to conceal the identity of a vehicle, unregistered vehicle, and a probation violation.
