Man accused of accessing someone else’s medical records

A 68-year-old Callier Springs Road man was jailed over the weekend on charges of computer trespass, computer invasion of privacy, and stalking.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

 Rolando Morales accessed the victim’s medical records without authority.

He also manually requested updates on the victim’s medical care.

The incidents date back to October of last year.

Man charged with criminal attempt to enter an auto

A Newnan man is accused of trying to enter automobiles on Redmond Road over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

57-year-old Gregory Lyle Epperson attempted to enter the vehicles by manipulating the door handles.

He then walked away after police asked him to stop.

Epperson is charged with two counts of criminal attempt to enter an automobile and one count of obstruction of law enforcement.

Woman charged with possession of fentanyl

A Coosa woman was recently arrested after she was reportedly found with fentanyl during a traffic stop.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Charity Warren Powers was stopped at East Sixth Street and Second Avenue.

The fentanyl was located in her pants pocket.

Powers is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Man accused of driving under the influence of drugs with child in vehicle

A traffic stop on Booze Mountain Road at Highway 27 South ended with the arrest of a 27-year-old Rome man on Saturday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by Tyler Austin Nichols was stopped for going 57 in a 40-mile-per-hour zone.

The state trooper then located two glass pipes, a small bag of methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, and a metal grinder in the vehicle.

A one-year-old child was also in the back seat.

Nichols is charged with possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, DUI, endangering a child while driving under the influence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and speeding.

Man arrested following traffic stop

A Rome man was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop for an obscured license plate on Reservoir Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

40-year old Brian Collin McKinney had a large quantity of methamphetamine and less than an ounce of marijuana.

McKinney also fled on foot.

He is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, obstruction of law enforcement, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and display of license plates.

Man charged with theft by receiving

A stolen ATV lands a Rome man behind bars on a felony theft by receiving charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

45-year-old Marshain Dontai Hamilton was found in possession of a 2023 Can-Am that had been reported stolen by a Cedartown woman.

The Off-road vehicle is valued at $3,500.

Hamilton was also charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license during his arrest on North Broad Street.

Woman charged with false statements and writings

A Rome woman is accused of signing her sister’s name to a traffic citation.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

19-year-old Jy’Keely Jeanise North was initially stopped by police on Branham Avenue at South Broad Street on June 24 for operating an unregistered vehicle.

North is charged with false statements and writings, giving a false name or date of birth, driving without insurance, and failure to appear in court.
