A homeless woman is facing multiple charges following a series of incidents at a liquor store on Redmond Circle—one of those incidents involved the throwing of a concrete block at a Rome Police Department patrol vehicle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Police responded to Bottle and Basket after 57-year-old Kerry Elaina Hays attempted to throw a liquor bottle at a store employee.

She also busted around $200 in liquor bottles on the floor.

An officer then saw Hays throw a concrete block at a Toyota Rav4 in the parking lot, busting out the rear window.

Hays then threw a concrete block at the patrol vehicle, striking the hood before bouncing onto the light bar, and nearly hitting the window while an officer was inside.

Hays is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, and single counts of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, interference with government property, and criminal trespass.
