Man accused of strangling woman

A Lindale man was arrested late last week on a felony aggravated assault charge.

According to an arrest warrant:

39-year-old Bobby Joe Tidwell Jr. put his hands around a woman’s throat and squeezed until she felt like she could not breathe.

There were scratches around the victim’s neck and the woman told police she believed she lost consciousness.

Man charged with aggravated assault, child cruelty

A Rosemont Park man was recently arrested after he allegedly strangled a woman and then slammed her head into a wall.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

40-year-old James Benjamin Gresham assaulted the victim in front of a 2-year-old child.

Gresham also aggressively ripped a onesie off the child.

He is charged with aggravated assault, battery, 2nd-degree cruelty to children, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

Man accused of hitting deputy

A man initially arrested on Old Rockmart Road for criminal trespass and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana is facing a felony charge for an incident at the Floyd County Jail.

According to jail records:

33-year-old Fatir Ibn Rassullullah Abdul Sul Pillow resisted officers and struck one deputy in the face.

Pillow, whose address is unknown, is charged with felony obstruction.

Man charged with theft by deception

A Lindale man was arrested late last week on a felony theft by deception charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Danny Easterwood acquired a vehicle, valued at $5,000, in exchange for work on May 23.

However, he never performed the work.

Report: Woman broke windows on Calhoun Road

A Rome woman was arrested last week after causing more than $1,500 in property damage on Calhoun Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

31-year-old Destinee Dawn Crocker broke several windows of the property.

She is charged with a felony count of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property. 

Woman arrested on drug charges

A traffic stop for an expired tag ended with the arrest of an East Rome woman on drug charges.

According to Floyd County jail records:

50-year-old Candace Marie Fowler tried to grind methamphetamine into the seat while sitting on it.

She was also found with clonazepam and dextroamphetamine.

Fowler is charged with possession of schedule I, II, and IV controlled substances, tampering with evidence, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and expired tag.

She was also charged with possession of drugs last the guard line at the jail.
