Inmate facing additional charges

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail has been charged with four counts of felony obstruction of officers.

According to jail records:

29-year-old William Roberts III refused to give up contraband and follow orders given by the officers.

Roberts has been in jail since May 3 on charges of simple battery, disorderly conduct, criminal trespass, and misdemeanor obstruction.

Man charged with false imprisonment

A Calhoun man was jailed Monday on a felony count of false imprisonment.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Carlton Christopher Ragsdale stood in front of a woman’s vehicle, preventing her from leaving a residence in the Armichee area.

The victim stated that she wanted to leave and get away from her boyfriend that she lives with.

Man charged with meth possession, giving a false name and birthdate

A 57-year-old West Rome man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine at Shorter Avenue and Marigold Street Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stanley Craig Brown gave police a false name and date of birth and was then found with suspected meth in his watch pocket.
