Rome City Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Stan Flanders as an Assistant Principal at Rome High School.
Flanders brings close to two decades of educational experience to the role. Flanders has served as a graduation coach for Tift County Schools as well as a Special Education Teacher and Behavior Specialist at Turner County High School. He’s also worked as a case manager for Pathway To Hope and as a case manager for Advantage Counseling Services.
Flanders earned his BS in Multidisciplinary Studies from Liberty University and a Masters in Education from Grand Canyon University. He also earned his Education Specialist in Teacher Leadership from Valdosta State University.
“Stan Flanders is an exceptional leader and educator and I’m excited to get to work with to help the students at Rome High School,” Rome High Principal Parke Wilkinson said.
The school system also announced the hiring of Taylor Woodrow as an Assistant Principal at Rome High School.
Woodrow brings close to two decades of educational experience as well as a strong familiarity with Rome City Schools to the role.
Woodrow has served as a Math teacher and a Special Education teacher at Rome Middle School for several years. Before that, he served as a residential support supervisor and a lead residential instructor for the Learning Tree, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida.
“It is truly an honor and privilege to begin a new chapter of my career with Rome City Schools as an Assistant Principal of Rome High School,” Woodrow said. “I am blessed with the most supportive family because, without them, this chapter would not be able to begin. Over the last eleven years, the teachers at Rome Middle School have become part of my family too. During my first few years teaching, I was able to work with some of the best teachers I have ever seen which helped me build a foundation as a teacher and as a professional. I’ve also always had great administrators who led by example. The faculty and staff of Rome Middle School have always been a tremendous influence and an abundance of encouragement, and I will always be appreciative of them. My family and I are excited about this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to joining the exceptional faculty, staff, and administration team at Rome High School.”
Woodrow earned his BA degree in Liberal Science and his MS in Secondary Collaborative Education from Jacksonville State University. He holds a Functional Behavioral Assessment Certification from Northwest Georgia RESA and a Gifted Endorsement from Northwest Georgia RESA. He is working toward his Doctorate of Educational Leadership from Jacksonville State University.
“Taylor Woodrow brings a wealth of experience to this position and I’m excited to add him to the staff here at Rome High School. I know he is going to do a great job. I’m excited to work with him,” Rome High Principal Parke Wilkinson said.
Rome City Schools also announced that Erin Hall has been named the assistant principal at West Central Elementary School.
With extensive experience in education and a strong commitment to academic excellence, Hall brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership skills to her new role.
Hall has a long history with Rome City Schools teaching at North Heights Elementary, Anna K. Davie Elementary, and West Central Elementary. This school year, she served as a Literacy Coach at West Central. She has previously worked as an Instructional Specialist, a fifth-grade ELA teacher, and a first and second-grade teacher at West Central. She was a first-grade teacher at Anna K. Davie and a pre-k, first-grade, and second-grade teacher during her time at North Heights.
Hall was named North Heights’ Teacher of the Year in 2009 and was also named West Central’s 2020 Teacher of the Year.
“Embracing the role of assistant principal is not just a step up in my career, but a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inspiring environment for every student at West Central. I am excited that Ms. Wheeler and I can together continue to build a community where learning thrives and every child can achieve their fullest potential,” Hall says.
Hall earned her BS degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and her Master’s in Education from Georgia Southern University. She also has an Educational Specialist Degree from Piedmont College, a reading endorsement from Northwest Georgia RESA, and Tier I Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia.
Along with her classroom roles she has also served as the Summer School Coordinator, served on the Superintendent's Advisory Committee, and helped coordinate the PTO.

Her dedication, experience, and passion for education make her an invaluable addition to our team.
