Report: Gunfire in South Rome may have been sparked by social media post
Two Rome women have been arrested in connection with a reported shooting incident on Hardy Avenue Friday evening.
According to Floyd County Jail records and a Rome Police report:
22-year-old Chelsey Nicole Shaw jumped over a fence and punched the victim in the face.
Shaw then pulled a pistol out of her vehicle and started shooting.
Six spent 9mm shell casings and two unspent shells were recovered at the scene.
Shaw is charged with aggravated assault, discharge of a weapon near a public street, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
22-year-old Honesty Joy Estrada is charged with party to the crime of aggravated assault, battery, and disorderly conduct.
The entire incident was sparked by a Facebook post, according to the victim.
Teen accused of trying to stab another teen with steak knife
A Rome teen is accused of assaulting another teenager on Spout Springs Road Sunday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Shala Leann Vinson tried to stab the 15-year-old victim in the head with a steak knife.
The incident occurred in front of a 13-year-old child.
Vinson is charged with aggravated assault and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
West Rome man charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats
A Rome man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly threatened family members with a knife at his Lyons Drive apartment.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
21-year-old Dravus Chaise Christian Dupree pulled a knife out of his bag and told his mother that he would kill her.
He also walked toward his mother and brother while holding the knife.
Dupree is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
Woman facing drug, weapons charges
A Rome woman is facing multiple charges following the execution of a search warrant at her Green Acre Road home back on March 20.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers found more than an ounce of marijuana, oxycodone, Xanax, digital scales, a rifle, and a handgun.
29-year-old Amber Rose Douglas is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of controlled substances, possession of drug-related objects, possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Report: Man who had fake driver’s license, also wanted by Pennsylvania authorities
A Rome man accused of possessing a fake driver’s license is also facing a fugitive from justice charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
In addition to the fake driver’s license, 53-year-old Sean Michael Skibber had a credit card and a Social Security card in someone else’s name.
It was then discovered that Scibber was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Pennsylvania.
He is charged with 2nd-degree forgery, identity fraud, false ID, giving a false name to law enforcement, false statements and writings, and no license.
Report: Man chased people downtown and tried to hit them with a dead snake
A Rome man is facing misdemeanor charges after allegedly chasing people around and attempting to hit them with a dead snake.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
The incident occurred Saturday evening on Broad Street at Second Avenue in Downtown Rome.
33-year-old Joshua Michael Smith, of an East Second Avenue address, admitted that he had drunk six beers.
He is charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
