Man jailed on aggravated assault, terroristic threats, and battery charges

A Rome man is accused of pointing a knife at a woman during an argument on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Byron F. De Leon Navas also grabbed the victim’s arm, pulling her back in to continue arguing.

Navas, who was arrested at his Lovell Lane home, is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, and battery.

Man accused of strangling woman

A 34-year-old West Rome man was arrested Tuesday at his Lyons Drive apartment on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant:

Donwin Duwayne Freeman put his hands around a woman’s throat and strangled her.

The incident occurred on Sunday of this week.

Two charged with burglary

Two Rome men were arrested after allegedly breaking into a business on Northside Lane on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Charles Ethan Waits and 41-year-old Gary Paul Hobbs entered Bradfield’s Iron Works and stole wire snips, a socket, and scrap metal.

Both are charged with 2nd-degree burglary and theft by taking.

Hobbs was additionally charged with possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

Woman accused of burglarizing home

A Rome woman has been arrested on charges of burglary, exploitation of the elderly, and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Christina Dianna Sheppard entered the Chulio Road home of a 65-year-old family member and grabbed the victim by the hair during an argument.

Sheppard also had suspected clonazepam that was not in the original container.

Report: Man stole four tires off vehicle

A 34-year-old Rosemont Park man is accused of stealing all four tires from a vehicle on Lee Street on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

The tires were valued at more than $500.

Demarcus Marquel Morgan is charged with felony counts of theft by taking and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

Woman accused of stealing $4,000

A Silver Creek woman who has been jailed since April 20 on a probation violation has now been charged with theft by taking.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Summer Lashae Smallwood took $4,000 from a man between January 25 and January 31 of this year.

Man charged in theft of vehicle

A Lindale man has been jailed on a felony theft by taking charge.

According to an arrest warrant:

30-year-old Andrew Todd Williams stole a car, valued at $2,000, from his mother back in May and then sold it.

Woman charged with auto theft

A Hasty Road woman has been charged in the theft of a vehicle that occurred on January 23 of this year.

According to an arrest warrant:

38-year-old Jessica Lauren Lyons took a 2018 Kia Sorrento valued at $14,000.
