Floyd County Jail Records –

A 40-year-old Chattooga man was arrested in Floyd County on Monday night after fleeing from law enforcement in his vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Joshua Benton Riley of Summerville allegedly fled a traffic stop in his Camaro at speeds of 120 miles per hour on GA 1. Riley reportedly showed total disregard for public safety while attempting to flee recklessly from police by driving on the wrong side of the road and running several stop signs.

When Riley was stopped by police, a bag of Methamphetamine and a pipe were found inside the vehicle.

Riley is charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude police, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, driving under the influence of drugs, and several other driving-related misdemeanors.


A 33-year-old Rome man was arrested on Tuesday on theft-related charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Jonathan Jerrod Heath was arrested after he allegedly used a stolen garage opener to access the inside of a victim’s garage. Heath then used a stolen key fob to get into the victim’s vehicle and steal belongings out of the car. Heath is charged with felony entering an automobile, 1st-degree burglary, and theft by taking
