[VIDEO] Armuchee High School manhole accident leaves one dead

Update: A Rome man died after falling into a manhole while doing plumbing work on the Armuchee High School campus Wednesday afternoon.

It is believed the man fell 20 feet and Lifeflight was called to the scene as first responders worked to rescue him.

Unfortunately, the man died before he could be pulled from the manhole.

Deputy Floyd County Coroner John Hamilton has identified the man as 34-year-old Robert Wallace Hall.

Hall’s body will be transported to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy.
