A Wind Advisory is in effect for the area until 11 p.m.
South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected.
There is also a chance for severe thunderstorms during the afternoon hours.
There is an enhanced risk (level 3 out of 5) for severe thunderstorms for far Northwest Georgia, including Floyd, Chattooga, Gordon, and portions of Polk and Bartow Counties.
There is a slight risk (level 2 out of 5) in effect for the remainder of north and central Georgia.
Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected along a cold front across North and Central Georgia this afternoon.
The primary threats are damaging wind gusts and an isolated strong tornado or two.
