Portions of Floyd, Polk, and Bartow County saw strong storms that brought down trees and power lines. More than 1,000 Georgia Power customers in Cave Spring were impacted by a power outage.

Our immediate area did not see any tornados. The National Weather Service confirms at least four tornados in the state with one fatality reported in Butts County – a five-year-old boy.

As part of the emergency declaration, the governor has ordered agencies to respond with an all-hands-on-deck approach to the affected communities.
