Georgia gas prices increased by 21 cents last week.

Motorists in the state are now paying an average price of $4.48, as of Monday morning.

The national average is now over $5.00 a gallon.

According to AAA, demand for gasoline continues to grow, and crude oil supply remains tight. This is an indication that consumers may continue to face higher prices at the pump for the remainder of the summer.

Local averages on Monday were $4.42 in Floyd County, $4.43 in Gordon County, and $4.45 in Bartow County.

Chattooga County had the lowest average price at $4.30 while Polk County was the highest at $4.54.
