A pursuit in Gordon County Sunday night ended with a fatal motorcycle crash.
According to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, at around 11 p.m., deputies responded to an alarm call at a local business in the Scottsville Community on Highway 53 and observed a suspicious motorcycle traveling on the highway.
The motorcycle had no tail lights and no license plate.
When a deputy attempted to stop the motorcycle, it raced away at a high rate of speed.
The deputies pursued the motorcycle eastward and into Calhoun.
The motorcyclist continued fleeing from the deputies until he crashed near the intersection of Court Street and River Street.
The driver of the motorcycle, identified by the Georgia State Patrol as Timothy R. Williams of Chattanooga, was killed in the crash.
There were no other injuries.
