(Via WZQZ Radio) A woman was arrested last week after allegedly chasing another woman in her vehicle down Highland Avenue.

According to Summerville Police, officers responded to report that an SUV was chasing another vehicle and that witnesses believed the two vehicles had collided at some point during the chase.

Police say that the driver of the SUV had been reported beating the other vehicle with a baseball bat after an altercation that happened at a Stevens Street residence before the chase began.

Officers were able to track down the vehicle that was driven by a 22-year-old Torria Ludy of Summerville, and initiated a traffic stop.

When questioned, Ludy denied hitting the other vehicle with a baseball bat and the collision and car chase – despite the fact her Chevy Suburban had signs of recent damage.

When officers asked for consent to search Ludy’s vehicle for a baseball bat, she denied their request.  Ludy then asked if she could call someone to get her children who were in the vehicle with her.

Ludy was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property, terroristic threats and acts, and reckless driving.  Officers say that they had to forcibly handcuff Ludy before placing her in the patrol car and taking her to jail.
