Man arrested after chase that started in Chattooga County Sunday

A pursuit that began in Chattooga County ended in Floyd County early Sunday with the arrest of a 31-year old Marietta man.

According to jail records, Patrick Bernard Burris fled from a road check in Chattooga County, initiating the chase.

A Georgia State Trooper picked up the chase on Highway 140 at Old Dalton Road.

He terminated the pursuit using a PIT maneuver near the Bartow County Line.

Burris told the trooper that he fled because he thought he had a warrant.

He was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, failure to maintain a lane, reckless driving, passing on the shoulder of the road, running a red light, and passing in a no-passing zone.
