An arrest has been made in connection with a fire that destroyed a building in downtown Summerville on Friday.
The building on Washington Street was the former site of a flower shop and a tax office before that.
19-year old Jimmy Gowan was arrested after an investigation implicated him as the one who started the fire.
He is charged with 1st-degree arson, burglary, and criminal damage to property.
Gowan has been banned from several local businesses and was recently arrested for entering an automobile belonging to a Summerville attorney.
