Floyd County reported more than 500 new COVID-19 cases

502 more COVID-19 cases were reported in Floyd County over a three-day period, according to Tuesday’s status report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The new cases bring the total to 17,423 since the start of the pandemic.

We are now at 1,407 cases in the last two weeks.

Bartow County reported 582 new cases since the last report on Friday.

Gordon County had 179 while Chattooga County had 70 and Polk County had 230.

There were no additional deaths reported in Floyd, Bartow or Polk Counties.

Chattooga County reported four deaths while Gordon County had one.

Statewide, there were 55,973 new positives reported on Tuesday with 35 confirmed deaths.

Again, these numbers are from December 31 to January 4.
