COVID-19 cases continue to rise

189 more Floyd County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Thursday report from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

The new cases bring the total to 16,706 since the start of the pandemic.

We are now at 769 cases in the last two weeks.

Bartow County reported 212 new cases from Wednesday to Thursday.

Gordon County had 76 while Chattooga County had 12 and Polk County had 79.

Floyd County reported another death Thursday as did Chattooga County.

two more deaths on Wednesday while Bartow County had four.

Statewide, there were 17,934 new positives reported on Thursday with 49 confirmed deaths.
