There’s more data that shows that the COVID-19 vaccine has been effective in preventing hospitalizations and death.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, from January 2 through September 28, just over one percent of the 4.9-million vaccinated Georgians have gotten COVID-19.
Meanwhile, just over 12% of unvaccinated Georgians tested positive during that same time period.
Around one-half of one percent of those without the vaccine had to be hospitalized after testing positive.
That number is only .003% among the vaccinated.
Of the deaths reported since January, 9.502 were unvaccinated.
Only 553 were fully vaccinated.
