A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Wednesday morning for much of the state including Floyd, Gordon, Bartow, Polk, and Chattooga Counties.
Tropical Depression Fred is expected to bring 2-5 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Expect an elevated threat for river and stream flooding in addition to localized flash flooding.
Also, wind gusts of 20-35 mph with locally higher gusts are possible.
Brief, short-lived tornadoes are possible mostly to the east and northeast of Fred’s center.
