GDOT announces replacement of a bridge in Chattooga County.

Georgia Department of Transportation –

The Georgia Department of Transportation recently announced the replacement of a bridge in Chattooga County.

The bridge is over Clark’s Creek, just south of Silver Hill Road on Highway 100. The project was identified as one of the sub-standard bridges that was in need of total replacement.  The existing bridge was built in 1942 and is located 3.5 miles southeast of Lyerly.

Tally Construction of Rossville, Georgia was awarded the contract after placing the lowest bid of $3,558,925.

A date for construction has not been set, but according to GDOT, the bridge must be completed by May 31, 2022.

Talley Construction will use a traffic control subcontractor when construction gets underway.
