GOVERNOR BRIAN KEMP
More Georgians will soon qualify to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
On Thursday, Governor Brian Kemp announced that due to the steady increase in vaccine supply the progress made in getting more doses administered, starting March 8, the state will expand the current 1A+ vaccination criteria to include adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their caregivers as well as parents of children with complex medical conditions.
The expanded criteria also include Pre-K, K-12, public and private school faculty and staff along with Department of Early Care and Learning educators and staff.
As more people become eligible for the vaccine, Kemp asked for continued patience because demand will outweigh the supply.
The expanded criteria means an estimated one million additional Georgians would be eligible for vaccination.
