WEIS Radio –
(Via WEIS Radio) On Wednesday, Cherokee County EMA Director Shawn Rogers received a call from Tuscaloosa County EMA Director Nick Lolley asking for assistance. Director Lolley was looking for meals ready to eat (commonly known as MRE’s) for the Alabama Task Force 2 Swift Water Rescue Team that was being deployed to Louisiana in response to Hurricane Laura which made landfall as a category 4 hurricane.
Director Rogers sent the request out to law enforcement partners and Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship who was able to provide Director Lolley with what he needed.
Chief Blankenship was able to provide the Swift Water Rescue Members of Alabama Task Force 2 with exactly several cases of MRE’s (Ready to Eat Meals).
Director Rogers thanks Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship for his partnership and I’m sure the Task Force 2 members thank him as well.
Director Rogers also thanks Director Lolley for the strong relationship that Cherokee County and Tuscaloosa County shares.
