Report: Woman left teen outside for several hours overnight in the cold

A Rome woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on a felony count of 1st-degree cruelty to children.

According to jail records:

38-year old Briteny Ann Johnson refused to allow a teenager back into the house on West 13th Street and left her alone for several hours in the middle of the night when the temperature outside was around 40 degrees.

Warrant: Woman stole more than $9K from Cedar Creek RV park

A Cedartown woman is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from her employer.

According to an arrest warrant:

39-year old Kela Rae Shelton took approximately $9,473 from Cedar Creek RV Park in Cave Spring between June and October of last year.

Shelton is charged with a felony count of theft by taking.
