Man charged with burglary, aggravated assault

An Armuchee man has been arrested in a reported burglary and assault that occurred on March 2.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

48-year old Joey Lee Fowler entered a motel room at the Saga Inn on Martha Berry Highway and took a backpack and other items valued at more than $1,000.

He then accelerated his vehicle in the parking lot, heading toward the victim.

Fowler is charged with aggravated assault, 1st-degree burglary, misdemeanor theft by taking, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Man charged with criminal damage to property, reckless conduct in New Year’s Day incident

A man is facing charges following a New Year’s Day incident in which an apartment on Paris Drive in West Rome was struck by gunfire.

According to an arrest warrant:

Jose Luis Oliva Quijada shot 25 times in the direction of the victim’s residence, which was struck three times.

One round went through a glass window, striking a closet door.

Another round hit the vinyl siding on the overhang of the roof.

The third round struck a brick wall.

Quijada is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and reckless conduct.

Man charged with felony shopl

A Rome man has been arrested on a felony theft by shoplifting charge.

According to an arrest warrant:

48-year old Kevin Wayne Eddy stole food, automotive items, hardware, and other uncategorized items from the West Rome Walmart between January 19 and February 21.

The items were valued at a combined $1,220.29.

A Garden Lakes man is accused of attempting to obtain an identification card using someone else’s name.

According to an arrest warrant:

35-year old Erick Josue Zapet-Vicente also provided a false birth date and Social Security number.

He then signed the application stating the information was accurate while at the Georgia Department of Driver Services office on Martha Berry Highway back on February 5. 

Zapet-Vicente is charged with a felony count of false statements and writings.

A West Rome has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry Law.

According to the warrant:

46-year old Joanna June Pellegrino failed to notify the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office within 72 of moving from her residence on Shorter Avenue back on March 3.
