Man charged with aggravated assault

A Rome man is accused of choking a woman until she lost consciousness at his Atkins Drive home on Saturday.

According to an arrest warrant:

46-year-old Chadwick L. Clark grabbed the victim by the throat, restricting her airways.

He is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.

Warrant: Man confined woman to bed while he assaulted her

A 50-year-old Rome man was arrested late last week at his Crescent Avenue home on warrants charging him with false imprisonment and simple assault.

According to the warrants:

John Patrick Tant confined a Cave Spring woman to a bed while assaulting her on Friday.

He was holding a knife at the time, flipping it open and closed.

Tant is also charged with battery.

Man charged with aggravated battery

A 26-year-old Lindale man is accused of punching a woman in the face and breaking her jaw.

According to an arrest warrant:

The incident occurred between February 10 and February 11 at the residence of Dillon Lee Newberry, who is charged with a felony count of aggravated battery.

Newberry is also being held for a probation violation.

Woman charged with aggravated animal cruelty

A 41-year-old Shannon woman is accused of failing to seek veterinary care for her dog after it had been struck by a vehicle.

Tosha Marie King was arrested at her Todd Street residence on a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The dog’s back legs have been rendered useless, suggesting it sustained a broken back, and was forced to live in extreme pain for over a month.

Woman accused of using someone else’s debit card to make online purchases

A Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with the exploitation of an elder or disabled adult.

According to the warrant:

31-year-old Amber Nicole Farmer used the victim’s debit card information to make $716 in transactions on the Internet between May 1 and July 1, 2024.

Man charged with theft by receiving, possession of meth

A homeless man was arrested on Shorter Avenue over the weekend after he was reportedly found with a stolen iPhone, valued at $1,400.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

36-year-old Deaundre Martel Wade intended to reset or sell the phone.

A small bag containing suspected methamphetamine was found in Wade’s pants pocket during a search.

He is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.

Meanwhile, 58-year-old Tammy Christine Norris was charged with a misdemeanor count of being a party to the crime of theft by receiving stolen property.

Warrant: Woman found with meth at hospital

A Shannon woman was arrested Sunday on a felony warrant charging her with possession of methamphetamine.

According to the warrant:

38-year-old Jennifer Dawn Leiter was in possession of a small baggie containing suspected meth while at the hospital back in November.

Man charged with meth possession

A 50-year-old Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest at Highway 27 North and Highway 156 late last week.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Randall Jonathan Willerson was found with suspected methamphetamine and pills not prescribed to him as he was being arrested on a warrant for a misdemeanor probation violation.

Willerson is charged with possession of meth and possession of drugs not in the original container.
