Man charged with aggravated assault
A Silver Creek man was arrested Thursday following an alleged assault at his Pleasant Valley Road residence.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
48-year-old Christopher Brian Vaughn struck his son in the back of the head and threatened to kill the victim.
He then raised a pool cue at officers.
Vaughn is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, simple battery, and two counts of felony obstruction of law enforcement.
Man accused of assaulting woman in front of children
A South Rome man is accused of assaulting a woman at his Cherokee Street residence on Thursday.
According to the arrest warrants:
34-year-old Willie Veloyd Plant put his hands around the woman’s neck and held her down on the ground.
Two juveniles witnessed the assault.
Plant is also charged with battery and two counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Man accused of stealing from a disabled person
A 60-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on felony charges of exploitation of a disabled adult and financial transaction card fraud.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Teresa Conyers withdrew $300 on the victim’s account from an ATM at a convenience store on Shorter Avenue.
The incident occurred on January 31.
