Man charged in 2023 robbery in North Rome

A man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with a robbery in North Rome more than a year ago.

According to an arrest warrant and a previous Rome Police Department report:

Security camera footage showed 25-year-old Jaylon D’Amonte Jester of Rome robbing two men at gunpoint outside of a barber shop at 1429 North Broad Street on October 6, 2023.

One of the men was treated for a gunshot wound at a local hospital.

Jester was also shot during the incident.

He was arrested on Reservoir Street Sunday after he allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to kill a woman and her children if she called the police.

Jester also threatened to shoot up the victim’s apartment.

He is charged with two counts of robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharge of a firearm near a public street, terroristic threats and acts, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
