Rome Police respond to property damage reports New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

Rome Police responded to a few reports of property damage on New Year’s Eve into New Year’s Day.

According to the incident reports:

A man on Pinetail Court off Technology Parkway told officers Wednesday afternoon that he noticed a hole in the ceiling of his laundry room and then saw a spent round from a firearm in the floor.

Meanwhile, police and firefighters responded to Edgewood Avenue in West Rome at around 11 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a vehicle fire. The officer stated that several vehicles had been involved in an explosion. An arrest was made after police discovered marijuana in one of the vehicles while surveying the damage.

Then, at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday a woman on East 12th Street was woken up by a loud banging and the sound of fireworks. When she went to investigate, she discovered fireworks had somehow traveled inside the residence and had busted a light bulb. Two juveniles were seen running away from the scene. Police observed a small hole near the bottom of the door and the front door rug had been blackened. No one in the home was injured.
