Man charged with aggravated assault
A South Rome man is facing charges in connection with an alleged assault on Wilson Avenue back on August 17.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
34-year-old Antarious Datrell Brown assaulted a woman by strangling her.
Brown is charged with aggravated assault.
Report: Man possessed 485 grams of marijuana
A Rome man was recently booked into the Floyd County Jail on drug charges.
According to jail records:
26-year-old Quortavious Shamar Spurgeon was found with 485 grams of marijuana packaged for resale at a location on Decatur Street in February of 2023.
Digital scales were also confiscated.
Spurgeon is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug-related objects.
Report: Synthetic marijuana found in woman’s pocket during traffic stop
An East Rome woman was recently arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana during a traffic stop on Dean Avenue at East 12th Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Ramona Ann Milstead was a passenger in a vehicle due to the driver having an active warrant for his arrest.
The occupants of the vehicle were searched following a K9 indication and synthetic marijuana was seized from Milstead’s pocket.
Woman charged with meth possession
A traffic stop over the weekend on Maple Avenue at Hawthorne Street ended with the arrest of an Aragon woman on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Heather Danielle Jones was found with a black pouch containing a clear bag which had suspected meth inside.
Jones was also charged with no insurance.
Convicted felon accused of having three rifles
A 36-year-old Armuchee man is facing a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon following his arrest on Sunday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Corey Wayne Meers was found with three rifles at a location on Redmond Circle.
