Cancer Navigators has received $2,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help nourish neighbors experiencing hunger. The “Nourishing Our Neighbors” grant supports community feeding partners as they tackle food insecurity and promote healthier lifestyles through nutritional education initiatives. These programs empower individuals to make healthier food choices and improve their dietary habits, which are crucial to eliminating health risks and breaking the cycle of hunger.

“Liquid nutrition provides cancer patients needed nutrients and hydration so they can continue treatments and increase their chances of survival,” said Cancer Navigators’ Grant Writer Sarah Husser. “We are grateful to the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation for doubling their support of Cancer Navigators’ Liquid Nutrition Program this year to help cancer patients in our community overcome a top barrier to cancer care.”

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $19.6 million in grants.
