The Floyd County Board of Education will discuss speed cameras and House Bill 581 during the Monday caucus.
Capt. Ron Hunton with Floyd County Police will be on hand to talk about the RedSpeed camera system while State Senator Chuck Hufstetler will attend the caucus to talk about the legislation that created a constitutional referendum approved by voters in November.
Among other things, the law caps property appraisals at 3 percent a year and gives local governments the authority to hold a referendum that, if approved, would implement a penny sales tax to offset property taxes.
The caucus begins at 5 pm at the central office on Riverside Parkway.
During the regular meeting, which starts at 6 pm, the county school board will honor the FCS Employees of the Month, hear a Facilities update, approve the financial report and any changes in personnel.
Other agenda items include the appointment of Armuchee High Parent Representative Caleb Kibble to the college and career academy board of directors, and the hiring of Southern A&E as the architect for bathroom renovations on multiple campuses.
