Georgia gas price average remains steady at the pumps compared to a week ago. Georgians are paying an average of $2.90 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
Monday’ state average remains the same as a week ago, at 4 cents less than a month ago and 15 cents less than this time last year. It costs drivers an average price of $43.50 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline.
“Georgia gas prices saw minimal or no change at the pumps across the state,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “Crude oil prices fell by more than 1% last Friday. With the Thanksgiving travel now in our rearview mirror, it appears that gas prices are steadfastly continuing their gradual descent.”
Local averages on Monday were $2.83 in Floyd County, $2.79 in Gordon County, $2.86 in Bartow County, $2.91 in Polk County, and $2.80 in Chattooga County.
Nationally
Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline decreased by 4 cents to $3.01. It has been less than a dime away from $3 for over a month as the waffling decline has been agonizingly slow. The last time the national average was below $3 was May 11, 2021.
According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gasoline demand rose slightly from 8.50 million barrels a day last week to 8.73. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks rose slightly from 212.2 million barrels to 214.6, while gasoline production decreased last week, averaging 9.5 million barrels per day.
