Rome City Commissioners will review the proposed 2025 draft budgets on Monday.

A budget discussion is scheduled for the commission’s caucus session, which begins at 5 p.m. in the Sam King Rome at Rome City Hall.

As has been reported, 2025 is shaping up to be tighter this year after recent pay increases, especially for police and fire services.

First reading of the budgets is slated for the regular commission meeting which begins at 6:30 pm.

Also on the agenda is solid waste fees for 2025, with slight increases for garbage and yard waste collection.

Commissioners are also expected to approve rental fees for the coming year for the civic center, city auditorium, the community center, the history museum, and Fort Norton with no changes with the exception of the addition a trash trailer fee (when needed) at the civic center.

The commission is also expected to vote on an ordinance amendment that, if approved, would allow downtown Rome to have a third party come in to handle parking enforcement.
