Two men are in custody following a wild sequence of events last week in Cartersville that led to a restaurant being damaged and two tazings.

According to a Cartersville Police report:

Police learned of a suspect doing narcotics in Texaco in the Cartersville Village Shopping Center off South Tennessee Street and falling asleep before entering a blue car traveling north.

During an ensuing traffic stop, 35-year-old Tyberius Leshawn Morris of Carrollton reportedly handed an officer a Florida ID with a different name before driving off, going more than 70 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone.

He tried to turn left onto East Main Street but lost control and slammed into a Mexican restaurant.

Morris and 32-year-old Eric Lavon Cole Jr. of Cartersville exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

Morris allegedly ignored police commands and had to be tazed twice when he reached for his waistline.
