Warrant: Man took Lindale woman to Rockmart against her will

A 23-year-old Rockmart man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on a felony warrant charging him with kidnapping.

According to the warrant:

On October 24, Anterrious Laukee Lester forcefully took a Lindale woman’s cell phone so she could not call 911 and then pushed her into his vehicle.

He then took the woman to his mother’s house in Rockmart.

Lester also punched the victim’s car window, breaking the glass, and pushed a second victim, taking her cell phone as well.

Lester is additionally charged with theft by taking, criminal trespass, obstructing a person from making a 911 call, and simple battery.

Convicted felon accused of discharging a firearm into the air

A Calhoun man was arrested over the weekend after he reportedly shot a gun into the air in East Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Dominique Jontavius Williams is a convicted felon and was not supposed to have a firearm in the first place.

He was also under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time and tried to get away as he was being placed in handcuffs

Williams is charged with reckless conduct, discharging a firearm while intoxicated, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of officers, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Woman charged with child cruelty

A Rome woman has been charged with 1st-degree cruelty to children following an incident late last week at her Tencey Lane home.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

33-year-old Patricia Ann Clark grabbed a 3-year-old child by the shoulders and threw him to the ground.

Inmate accused of damaging toilet at jail

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing a felony charge following an incident involving a toilet late last week.

According to jail records:

29-year-old Jonathan Eugene Sutton of Centre, Alabama dismantled the commode and removed it from the wall of his cell.

He is charged with interference with government property.

Sutton has been in jail since April after he was arrested for allegedly using a metal pipe to bash out the headlights of a woman’s vehicle.

He is also being held for Polk County authorities.
