Man accused of having stolen UTV
A 38-year-old Cedartown man was recently booked into the Floyd County Jail on a felony warrant charging him with theft by receiving stolen property.
According to the warrant:
Dustin Ray Proctor used his vehicle to transport a stolen Kawasaki Mule to a location in Aragon back on March 19.
Proctor stated that he had been with the man who had stolen the utility terrain vehicle earlier in the day.
Man found inside abandoned home
A 43-year-old Kingston man has been jailed on charges of 1st-degree burglary, and felony obstruction of officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
During a follow-up investigation into a theft report filed on October 16, police spotted Byron Brent Keeney in a burned-out home on Dublin Circle, where nobody was supposed to be.
He had a drill, a hacksaw, and box cutters, and he had tried to cut the copper lines from an air conditioning system.
At the time of his arrest, Keeney had a firearm and resisted officers.
He is also charged with theft by taking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, and criminal trespass.
Woman charged with exploitation, theft by deception
An Armuchee woman originally arrested on Wednesday is facing additional charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
54-year-old Tammy Renee Davis Stinson stole a check from a financial institution from her mother’s mailbox and used her mother’s driver’s license to cash the check at a local gas station.
The check was for $3,001.
Stinson was initially charged with identity fraud.
She is now additionally charged with exploitation of the elderly, and theft by deception.
