Man accused of pistol-whipping a homeless man

A 37-year-old North Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.

According to the warrant:

Jason Earl Edwards pointed a firearm at a homeless man’s head and then pistol-whipped the victim causing the gun to discharge.

The incident occurred on October 9 at a residence on Howell Street.

Report: Man drove from Alabama to Floyd County for sex with minor

A Dalton man was booked into the Floyd County Jail late last week on charges of criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, sexual exploitation of children, and use of a computer service to entice a child.

According to jail records:

34-year-old Lucius Edward David White contacted someone on social media who he believed to be under the age of 16.

He engaged in a graphic sexual conversation and asked for nude photos before driving from his job in Alabama to Floyd County to meet the person.

Man accused of stealing from fast food restaurant

A North Rome man has been arrested on charges of 1st-degree forgery and theft by taking.

According to an arrest warrant:

32-year-old Devin Andrew Cuffee took $270 from Wendy’s on Turner McCall Boulevard between May and July of this year.

The forgery charge was returned via an indictment by a Floyd County Grand Jury on September 30.
