Man facing multiple charges including aggravated assault

A Rome man is facing charges following an alleged assault at his Edenbury Court residence on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

22-year-old Christopher Jackson Hooper choked a woman twice until she passed out both times.

He also slapped the victim and threw unopened beers at her, hitting her in the head with one of them.

Hooper also kicked the woman in the head and bit her.

When she got in her vehicle in an attempt to leave, Hooper unplugged the garage door, took the woman’s car keys, and threw her cell phone to the ground, damaging it.

He additionally, picked the victim up and threw her to the ground, placing his hand over her nose and mouth, causing her to go in and out of consciousness.

He also caused the victim to hit her head on an end table and threatened to kill her.

Hooper is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, battery, terroristic threats and acts, obstructing a 911 call,  and criminal damage to property.
