Floyd County administrative and non-essential offices closed Friday

-News Release-

All Floyd County Administrative, Judicial, and non-essential offices will be closed on Friday, September 27, 2024, due to the impending inclement weather caused by Hurricane Helene.  Employees should contact their supervisors for more specific direction.   

A reminder from Floyd County E-911,

  • Please stay off the road unless it is an emergency.  Responders, including utility workers, will be out working to clear any debris and restore utilities.
  • Winds and rain may cause downed power lines.  Do not go near any downed line.
  • Charge any wireless devices, especially means to receive emergency alerts.
  • If you are on oxygen, make sure you have a backup plan if you lose power.
  • There can be extended response times depending on the impact to our area.
  • 911 cannot give times for power restoration. 
  • Call 911 for all emergencies.
  • Call GA Power or visit their outage map online to report power outages or view times for power restoration. 
  • Floyd County residents can enroll in CodeRED for emergency alerts by texting FloydAlert to 99411 to receive an enrollment link.
