Woman accused of taking money from clients to file taxes and failing to do so

A 67-year-old Rome woman is accused of taking money from clients to file their taxes but failing to do so.

According to an arrest warrant:

Pamela Colleen Ellison received a $400 check to file the victim’s taxes on March 15, 2023.

In July of this year, the victim received a letter from the Internal Revenue Service stating that she needed to file her 2022 taxes.

According to Floyd County Police, Ellison was doing business as Cervantes Tax Services.

She has been charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by conversion.
