Murder suspect facing additional charges

Additional charges have been filed against the suspect in a murder in North Rome earlier this week.

On Tuesday afternoon, Rome Police responded to the 300 block of Reynolds Street and found 56-Brian Jeffrey Haynes of Rome dead inside a vehicle.

He had been shot in the head.

Nigel Oliver Hall was arrested a short time later and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

He has now been additionally charged with two more counts of aggravated assault, two counts of reckless conduct, and single counts of malice murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, 1st-degree cruelty to children, aggravated battery, interference with government property, and criminal trespass.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Two other people were on the other side of Haynes and were nearly struck by bullets.

One of the bullets struck a child safety seat.

Once transported to the Rome Police Department headquarters, Hall urinated during the interview.
