[VIDEO] Cops 4 Kids Softball Benefit Tournament raises funds for Special Olympics

Saturday morning the 2024 Cops 4 Kids Softball Benefit Tournament took place at the Alto Park baseball fields.

This Southern Softball Association tournament serves as a fundraiser for the local Special Olympics.

Multiple public service and law enforcement agencies were present to volunteer at the event including the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Rome Police, Floyd County Police, the Rome-Floyd Fire Department, and Georgia State Patrol.

(In the video above) Former Sheriff Tim Burkhalter spoke about the history of Cops 4 Kids in Rome, Chaplain David Thornton talked about how this year’s event was different from previous years, and Sheriff Dave Roberson also spoke about the importance of having events like Cops 4 Kids

According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, this year’s event raised over $14,000!
