Warrant: Man threatened to blow up senior care facility

A 39-year-old West Rome man was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant charging him with terroristic threats and acts.

According to the warrant:

Sterling Leon Palmer Jr. threatened to blow up a senior care facility on Cedartown Highway on Friday of last week.

Palmer made the threat in a text message to his girlfriend during an argument.

Man charged with serious injury by vehicle

Charges have been filed in a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist on Redmond Circle on Tuesday of last week.

According to an arrest warrant:

57-year-old Stanley Craig Brown of Rome caused the collision by pulling into the path of the motorcycle.

Brown then left the scene.

The motorcyclist sustained multiple injuries to his hand, foot, spine, sternum, and other areas that required hospitalization, surgeries, and physical therapy.

Brown, who was initially arrested Monday on charges of possession of methamphetamine and giving a false name and date of birth to law enforcement, is now charged with a felony count of serious injury by vehicle.

Report: Homeless person tried to strangle victim

A homeless person is facing a felony aggravated assault charge following an incident early Wednesday on Redmond Circle.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

27-year-old Shania Lynn Wisecup assaulted the victim with the intent to strangle them.

Man accused of stealing Louis Vuitton purse

A Cartersville man has been charged in the theft of several items from a Summerville woman that occurred on May 17 at Chili’s on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome.

According to the arrest warrant:

41-year-old Geoffrey Scott Bennett took a Louis Vuitton purse valued at $1,500.

The contents of the purse included Apple Airpods, valued at $100; credit or debit cards; $106 in cash; makeup, valued at $95; and the victim’s identification cards.

Bennett is charged with felony theft by taking.

Man charged with burglary, forgery, and exploitation of the elderly

A 47-year-old Rome man is accused of entering an apartment on Highway 411 and stealing unwritten checks.

According to arrest warrants:

Clarence Adolph Williams III then uttered an altered check for $2,700.

Williams did this on three different occasions between December 20 and January 18 for a total of $8,100.

He is charged with 1st-degree burglary, 3rd-degree forgery, and exploitation of the elderly.
